RTP received till this morning 80 songs to the Portuguese selection to the Eurovision Song Contest. The songs are from all the music styles, including some “comics”. Among the artists is Nucha, Portuguese entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1990 with “Há Sempre Alguém” (There’s always someone).

The deadline to submit songs is next Monday, January 12. Probably the number of submitted songs will double. Two days after, a jury of experts will select the 24 best songs. The jury will include the head of delegation José Poiares and the musicians Tozé Brito, Fernando Martins and Ramon Galarza. From 19 to 30 January, the Eurovision fans from all over the world will have the chance to select the 12 final songs through RTP website.

As we reported earlier, the Final will go on February 27. It’s confirmed the venue previously scheduled: “Teatro Camões”, in Lisbon. The main host is Sílvia Alberto.
