Greek former Eurovision participant Anna Vissi is one of the singers confirmed to perform in a humanitarian concert at the City Stadium in Skopje, the capital of FYR Macedonia on 5th October, in the honour of late Macedonian megastar Toše Proeski, exactly a year after Toše performed his last humanitarian concert at the same stadium.

Twenty-five acts will perform, including Leontina Vukomanović, lyricist of the song Lane moje, sung by Željko Joksimović, which placed second at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest, in which Toše participated with his song Life. Leontina will sing the song she wrote for Toše Čija si? The song won Beovizija 2003, but the then Serbia and Montenegro was one of several countries forced to withdraw from the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest.

Toše’s manager Liljana Petrović, who survived the accident in which Toše died, said: “With this concert we want to fulfil Toše’s last three wishes. The first is for the City Stadium to be filled to the rafters. The second is for Macedonia to be promoted with Toše’s English-language album, and the third is for his family to be happy.” She added: “So many singers asked to perform, but unfortunately we won’t be able to fit them all in.”

The concert will be organised by the Ministry of Culture of FYR Macedonia and the “Toše Proeski” Foundation, which was set up in memory of the singer who tragically died aged 26 in a car crash on a Croatian motorway last October.

Anna Vissi placed 9th at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest for Greece with her song Everything, and also participated for Cyprus in 1982 and for Greece in 1980 with the Epikouri.
