Azeri Public TV fined by EBU

The Public Television station in Azerbaijan has had to pay a fee to the EBU for pulling out of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest this year, which was announced earlier.

The undisclosed fee was paid to the EBU for the JESC dropout claims Fuzuli Ismayilov, representing the Azeri Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. Ismayilov’s reasoning for the refusal of participation was the inability to find a representative, citing lack of support.

As per EBU regulations regarding Eurovision, broadcasters will be charged a fee if withdrawal takes place after a certain date.
