The Czech Republic has chosen their entrant internally. The lucky (or not so lucky) pick is the rap band called Gypsy.cz. They tried to compete for the Eurovision ticket the past two years but only managed to make top 3 both times. The Czech Republic has had a big black cloud over them since they joined. They were last place in 2007 and second to last in 2008. Maybe this year they’ll manage third to last and I wouldn’t be surprised with their entry. Rap doesn’t really do well in Eurovision. I don’t think they are horrible but they aren’t the best choice out there. One thing is for certain though. They will stand out and people will probably remember them and I guess when it comes down to it, that’s all that really matters. (even though boy groups in this Eurovision are starting to become a trend already. Four out of the 12 entrants so far are boy groups and that’s not including Petr’s band)

I think Teapacks who represented Israel in 2007 with a rappish song are better than Gypsy.cz and they only managed to place 24th in the semifinal. Maybe though Gypsy.cz will wow us.
