Op weg naar het Eurovisiesongfestival in Moskou begint Hadise haar internationale promotietour op Malta. Daar treedt ze op 7 februari op tijdens de nationale Eurosongfinale.
Normaal is het piepkleine eiland geen prioriteit voor internationale artiesten, maar voor Songfestivaldeelnemers zijn de twaalf Maltese punten even belangrijk als pakweg de Britse. Op 7 februari maakt Hadise kennis met de Vlaamse componist Marc Paelinck, bekend van de Songfestivalinzendingen van Sergio en Xandee. Paelinck bedacht het liedje van zangeres Chiara, die uitgesproken favoriet is om Malta op het Songfestival te vertegenwoordigen. (dhs)

Malta will continue its search for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest tonight with the seventh semi final being held. Another seven acts will compete to be one of the 20 acts which are going to reach in the national final.

The show
Seven songs will be presented tonight. Out of the total of 56 songs in the eight semi finals, an expert jury will select 15 songs for the national final on 7th February while another five songs will be chosen by televoting. Valerie Vella will host the show, which starts at 21:15 …

The 56 entries to qualify forthe next stage of Malta’s Eurovision Song Contest 2009 selection have been revealed tonight by PBS. Amongst the big names on show are two-time representative and former Eurovision Song Contest runner-up, Chiara and Claudia Faniello who took second and third place in last year’s final. 2004 representative Ludwig Galea is still in the running, and Ralph Siegel has composed one of the entries.
