One of the entries in the upcoming Dansk Melodi Grand Prix will be sung by Danish-Icelandic singer Hera Björk. Hera Björk is a big star in her original home country Iceland and has previously tried her luck in the Icelandic preselection, and was one of the backing singers who joined Eurobandid on stage in the 2008 Eurovision in Belgrade. Hera, living in Copenhagen, will now perform the entry “Someday” in the Danish national final 2009, to be aired on January the 31st.

Birthe Kjær, the 1989 representative for Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest in Lausanne, Switzerland, will return to the Eurovision world at the end of this month as host of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. She will co-host the show with television and radio presenter, Felix Smith.
Birthe Kjær entered the Eurovision Song Contest at her fourth attempt. She failed to win Melodi Grand Prix in 1980, 1986 and 1987 before taking victory and the Danish ticket to lausanne with the song Vi maler byen rød (we paint the town red). …
