Yesterday evening both myself and Emma went up to television centre to watch the dress rehearsal for ”Your Country Needs You”. Unfortunately we can’t say too much, as all members of the audience were required to sign confidentiality forms before the show started!

Dima Bilan and Yana Rudkovskaya challenged themselves in an ice-skating project launched on Russian channel RTR.
Dima Bilan, the Russian representative and the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 takes part in a show called Stars on ice, where he will be ice-skating with the Olympic champion Elena Berezhnaya. Together with Bilan participates his producer Yana Rudkovskaya. Yana’s partner is another champion, Ruslan Goncharov.

Today, Heads of Delegation of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest meet in Lemesos, Cyprus, to be informed about the preparations for the 2008 running of the contest, hosted by broadcaster CyBC.

The second semi final of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest was held tonight. 19 songs were presented and ten made it to the final and will join the five pre-qualified countries and the ten qualifiers from Tuesday in the grand final in Saturday.

The grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest takes place this Saturday, 24th May at 21:00 CET.

This evening as we follow the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade. With a song-by-song account of the evening, we’ll be with you until the tense finish as the last ten safe places are read out.

TRT’nin Eurovision macerası 1973 yılı Lüksemburg ve 1974 yılı İngiltere Eurovision Şarkı Yarışmalarını yayınlayarak başladı.

Şarkı yarışması fikri, 1956 yılında Fransız televizyonu ORTF’nin Başkanı Marcel Bessentsant tarafından ortaya atıldı.
