At the Heads of Delegation meeting of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, currently taking place in sunny Cyprus, the Steering Group introduced several minor changes in the format of the event. CyBC also revealed the design of the stage for this year’s contest.

NTU, the Ukrainian broadcaster, has won the bid to host the 7th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest next year in Kyiv. NTU, who also hosted successfully the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest after Ruslana’s victory in Istanbul, are proud and honoured to welcome children from all over Europe this time.

Today, Heads of Delegation of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest meet in Lemesos, Cyprus, to be informed about the preparations for the 2008 running of the contest, hosted by broadcaster CyBC.

First TV Channel and “Belarus-TV” satellite channel will broadcast semifinal of the national junior contest “Song for Eurovision” tonight, June 1st at 18:15 CET (19:15 localtime). 20 performances will be available for the TV audience. The professional jury will select only 10 of them for participation in the final to be held in September.
