Today, we have known that this year’s Ukrainian performance at the Eurovision Song Contest will feature a so-called “Hell Machine”, a mobile device depicting the shape of a cog with several lamps in the frontal side. Svetlana Loboda will appear inside the wheel.

This massive cog will go down from the ceiling, and will describe at least two movements: rotation and descent. Svetlana Loboda, this year’s Ukrainian representative, will appear inside the machine during the descent and the whole thing will be accompanied by light effects, with mobile lamps, as well as pyros on stage.

The device, which has been given the name of “Hell Machine”, will be manufactured in some European countries and China.

Svetlana Loboda will compete at the second semifinal of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Be my Valentine.

The official version of the United Kingdom’s entry in Moscow was premiered this week on Ken Bruce’s show on BBC Radio 2. Also during the show it was announced that Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber would perform on the Eurovision stage in May. Lloyd Webber will accompany Jade Ewen when performing My time, 23rd in the running order, he will be playing piano whilst Jade sings.

Jade has visited a number of countries as part of the largest promotion campaign from a british artist for the Eurovision Song Contest, these countries include performances in the National Finals of Malta, Greece, Russia, Ukraine etc. It has been stated that Jade will visit 40 countries as part of her promotion tour.

The United Kingdom will sing 23rd in the Final of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Moscow, Russia on the 16th May 2009.

The first question asked by the website was about their favourite song from the selection and whether it is the one chosen meaning Shine. “De Toppers” replied that “Shine” and “Angel in the Night” were there favourites as they were both fantastic entries. The second question which the Eurosong Italia team asked is whether Jeroen fitted in well with the group after Gerard Joling (ESC 88) had left in the group. The team said that they were happy with Jeroen being part of them as he has a sense of humour which is a common characteristic between them while also having a beautiful voice. Experience is a vital part of this journey and the team ask “De Toppers” what they expect from this journey. The answered quite generally saying that they are huge fans of the music competition following the contest closely for quite some time saying that their best memories have to be when they were young and could follow the contest with their families.

Eurosong Italia turn their focus on the 2009 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest asking “De Toppers” on whether they heard any other songs from this year and their thoughts about them. They answered that they have heard a couple of entries and acknowledged the fact that it is going to be one of the stronger editions especially compared to the last couple of years. The next question regards Gordon as a fashion designer as he is asked whether they will be wearing his clothes in Moscow. He says that the designs and materials for the contest will be inspired by him in order to leave a lasting impression. Promotion is essential and leads up to the next question in which the Eurosong team asks “De Toppers” about their promotion. They responded by saying that they have already received invitations to carry out interviews with BBC and Moldova while acknowledging the fact that meeting audiences will help their status even for their careers.

The next subject at hand was too evident not too be asked as we turn our focus on Italy and whether the boys ever made it to the country. They said that they had been too Italy and just loved it while also commenting that they had even sung songs in the languages and plan to do it in the very near future. The question which has been in the minds of European viewers is asked to the Dutch group; “Do you think there will be an Italian come back?” “De Toppers” answer quickly and say yes as long as the quality of their music remains high. The Eurosong Italia team asks about the plans after the Eurovision which include several tour concerts as well as a cruise with fans because of their 5 year anniversary as “De Toppers”. The group would also like to tell their fans that they love them and hope that they will grab their phones and vote for them in May. The last comments that Eurosong Italia pass on is that the lyrics were written by Gordon himself. He is excited to have been acknowledged as the website team wishes them the best of luck for the Eurovision Song Contest 2009.
