As we reported last week, the three members of De Toppers, who were announced as Dutch representatives in the Eurovision Song Contest, in Moscow, don’t seem quite sure yet. Gerard Joling seems to have stated, according to many newspapers and blogs including RTL website, that he might not join the two other members.

“No song, no way to Moscow and no concerts!” says Gerard Joling to this morning’s press.  According to “De Telegraaf”, problems with the song writers and producers could be the origin of the conflict between the members of the band, and also publicity contracts, especially between Gordon and Joling. “There is too much trouble between me and Gordon! I can no longer work with someone who is poisoned by jealousy”, continues the singer. “For me it’s disappointment after disappointment. After my doubts about the future of De Toppers, now I can say that the band has no future!” According the same source, De Toppers manager, Benno de Leeuw, will contact the three singers tomorrow, trying to “rebuild” the band.

The national broadcaster TROS will do the last attempts in the next days.  ‘We are in the middle of all this! We still believe everything will be solved”.

Gordon prefers not to react to Jolling’s statements: “I prefer to say and think positive things”, he said to RTL. Rene Froger reacts not at all.
