TRT should know its Eurovision Song Contest entrant for Moscow within the next few days, according to information passed to oikotimes.com today. Sources from within TRT have told us that the Turkish broadcaster is set to give first choice to Sebnam Ferah; and, in the event that she declines the invitation of singing at Eurovision, rock singer Burcu Günes will be invited to take part instead. The offers will be made shortly, with TRT expected to make an announcement on their entrant very soon.

TRT has also to follow a new Turkish law which dictates that the country’s Eurovision entry must, from now on, always be sung in Turkish.

Sebnam Ferah is no spring chicken, aged 36, and can occasionaly be mistaken for Sertab. Both singers also sing the  same types of ethno-pop songs, with the former Eurovision winner alleged to be endorsing Sebnam in the TRT offices. Meanwhile Burcu is described as some as arguably the most famous rock singer in Turkey.
